Located in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, its dark sandstone spire rises over 200 feet, making it one of the largest monuments to a writer in the world. Designed by George Meikle Kemp, it features intricate carvings, numerous statues of characters from Scott's novels, and a large statue of Scott himself with his dog Maida at its base.
